What to bring 

                                                    

  • A current passport valid for at least the full length of your stay

  • A valid visa or visa exemption (if applicable)To make your way to the city of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand*Note: Things such as extra tours, snacks, soft drinks, and souvenirs will incur additional expenses

  • Personal insurance (We also provide the insurance from our end)

  • A change of clothes for 7+ days (including long sleeves and long trousers for trekking), Bathing suit, Towel, Sunscreen,

  • Insect repellent,

  • Hat & Sunscreen

  • Flip flops, Shoes/boots for trekking

  • Flashlight

  • toilet paper

  • Camera (optional)

  • Any personal medicine

Trip Includes: 

 

  • Accommodation- Traditional Wooden House Karen Village, Matresses on the floor with mosquito net- dormitory style. Toilets outside in their own private hut, with a bucket to bathe 

  • Pick up (Day 1) 7:30-8:00am Drop off (Day 7) 6:00pm

  • Photographer & online photo album (Facebook)

  • 3 meals per day (All meals can be prepared to suit vegetarians or vegans, or to accommodate any special dietary requirements) 

  • Fresh seasonal fruit, tea, coffee, and drinking water will also be provided 

  • Full instructions for all tasks you are required to perform

  • An immersive cultural experience, as you learn about local tribal lifestyle

  • Elephant Jungle Sancutary t-shirt

  • Additional Day 1,600 Baht

 

Requirements

                                                    

  • Volunteers must be physically fit and over 18 years of age (if under 18, please see ‘Special Requirements for Minors’ to determine if you qualify for a volunteer position)

  • A basic level of spoken English is required

  • No special vaccinations are required to volunteer with us

  • No specific experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to have one of the greatest experiences of your life!

  • Seasonal Weather: As a rule, you should bring wet weather clothes if planning to volunteer between June – October, and warm clothes between November – February.

Program Start: (Day 1): 07:30 - 08:00AM Pick up from your accommodation in Chiang Mai 

Program Finish (Day 7): 6:00PM (Approx.)

Drop off at your accommodation in Chiang Mai.

Illicit drugs are forbidden at all times throughout your stay at the Sanctuary and at the village.

Alcohol may be consumed (responsibly) outside of working hours only.

Phone signals may not be available in some areas. No refunds, but changes to your volunteering dates will be permitted up to 1 month before the start of your visit. Should any volunteer/s found to be in breach of our rules or local laws, the program will be terminated. No refund will be given in this case. Weather and seasonal conditions may affect where you work, or what you will be doing, but your volunteer program will continue no matter what, so don’t worry! Operational Months: All year round
